Life Story for Marsha Zwart

Marsha  Zwart
– Marsha A. Zwart, 66, of West Church Street, West Chazy, NY died Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at UVM CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, NY surrounded by family.
She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on June 9, 1951 the daughter of Charles Thomas and Gertrude Irene (Block) Scholl.
While she never graduated high school, she was very proud of attaining her GED later in life and attending college.
She grew up in in Muskegon, Hudsonville, and eventually in Grand Rapids where she met the love of her life.
Dirk and Marsha were married February 21, 1970 in St. Andrews Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dirk joined the US Air Force soon thereafter which afforded them the opportunity to travel throughout much of the US and some foreign countries.
Marsha worked as a waitress, cook, babysitter, foster parent and then almost 24 years with the Advocacy and Resource Center as a commercial bus driver. She was very proud of her CDL status. She would never hesitate to remind anyone who would listen that she had it.
Her favorite activities were bowling, getting her nails done, going to the casino and traveling, but most of all, spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Charles Jr. and Donald, and her brother in law Pat.
In addition to her husband of 48 years, Dirk P. Zwart, she is survived by her six children, Angelique(Jim) Duval, Tami and fiancé Raymond, Dirk P. II and fianceé Jess, Michael and companion Evey, James, Joseph and companion Krissy; her sisters Janet and Carol, brother Gary, sister in laws Dorothy and Jollette, her grandchildren Cody(Karly) Garren, Ashley Garren and fiancé Bryant, Juliana Zwart and fiancé Lance, Derek and Thomas Oakes, Aislyn and Kyrah Zwart, her five great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and her beloved dog and constant companion, Nike.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 11am to 1pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street, Plattsburgh. Services will follow at 1pm with Father Reamer officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the Advocacy and Resource Center or the Fitz Patrick Cancer Center.
