Life Story for Jeanne Forkey

Jeanne Forkey
Jeanne Ledoux Forkey, 58, of Irona Road, Altona, passed away in her home, April 10, 2018, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Plattsburgh, July 14, 1959, the daughter of John and Esther Hungerford Ledoux. She grew up in Rouses Point and Ellenburg Depot and graduated from Northern Adirondack Central School in 1977. Jeanne married Chris Forkey, August 12, 1978 at the Wesleyan church in Ellenburg Depot.
She ran her own daycare out of her home for many years, doing what she loved; caring for children. She worked as a one-on-one teacher’s aide at NAC and Champlain Valley Educational Services.
Jeanne loved her family with a fierce passion. She was very creative; she enjoyed sewing, writing, painting and baking. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful heart. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a woman of unwavering faith, despite the many trials and tribulations that life threw at her. When the weather was fine, and even when it wasn’t, Jeanne loved to be barefoot. She loved a good party, whether that meant a family barbeque or a fire in the backyard- she always desired to be surrounded by the people she loved.
Left to cherish the memory of Jeanne are her three children, Jennifer and Donnie Duprey of Beekmantown, Katie and Nick Rowe of Altona, Lance Forkey and Kayla Supley of Altona; three great grandchildren, Haleigh, Liam and Landon; many nieces and nephews; her brother Roy Ledoux & his wife Carol of California, and her sister Diane McIntyre and her husband John of Long Island.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 10:30 am at Holy Angels Church in Altona. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to Hospice of the North Country.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, 3123 Miner Farm Road, Altona, NY 12910 (518) 236-5986. Online condolences may be offered at www.brownfuneralhomeinc.com
