Life Story for Norman Burl

Norman Burl
Norman J. Burl, 83, of Military Turnpike, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at the UVM Health Network-CVPH with family by his side. He was born in Altona on December 29, 1934, the son of the late Gilbert and Gladys (Premo) Burl.
Norman served in the U.S. Army and later was employed by Coca Cola in Plattsburgh for 33 years as a vending supervisor and later for 18 years at Cedar Knoll Log Homes. He was a member of the District 3 Fire Department for over 40 years. He enjoyed gambling and race car driving.
He is survived by children and their spouses; Joseph and Diane Burl and John Burl, his companion Barbara Caska, a brother Robert Shea, a sister, Shirley Sipos, his grandson; Austin Burl whom he adored, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Shirley Burl, a son Jason Burl, his parents, his brothers; Arthur, Donald, Robert, Ernest and Uyless Burl and his sisters Pearl Kowalski and Maude Daniels.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Interment with military honors will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be offered to the District 3 Fire Department or Fitzpatrick Cancer Center.
