Condolence: It is with a very sad heart that me and our family learned of Bill's passing. Bill was a very large part of our family here in Norwalk for many years during my childhood. Not only did he work for our family, he became part of it. He was especially close to my uncle who passed away in 1974. They and his brothers, fished together, skied together, boated, flew planes, and as you can see from some of the pictures I posted, spent lots of time just having fun! Special events included special outings with Bill to the local amusement park, making sure when we went out for Holloween that our dads and he followed us at a safe distance, but not just to watch us, to also scare the heck out of us, Another fond memory was a trip to Madison Square Garden with his mom to see Peggy Flemming in the Ice Capades just after her win in the Olympics.. I still have the flyer. In 1977 my brother and I visited Plattsburg shortly after he moved there, and you can read the note he wrote to a 20 year old and her younger brother!(posted on the picture page) Most of you know he went to the 1980 Olympics, hosting my parents and sisters, thus they all attended the Miracle on Ice! (I was there too, just a day too late, much to my chagrin) Much later I was given a tour of his beautiful home near Plattsburg, he took so much pride in it and I envied its beautiful garden. Our family would not have been enriched with as many happy memories if it wasn't for Bill. We will miss him dearly.

Condolence: Family, please find comfort in knowing what is stated here at Revelation 21:4, It gives us a gleam into what God is able to do and will do, for it says, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Isaiah 25:8a. From God’s word this will be a reality. I express my sincere condolences for your loss.

Condolence: I knew Bill first as a customer at Northway VW, then as a fellow pilot at Clinton Aero, and finally as an employee of his at Northway VW. I got to know Bill as a friend while learning to become a pilot. He was always a source of knowledge in flying, and a great mentor in becoming a professional pilot. When flying he was all business. He had his own airplane which he flew to Connecticut to see his mom. After some time he asked me if I would like to attend his annual Christmas party for his employees from Northway, after I had accepted his offer to come and work for his company. He also wanted me to bring my cat to work too. I accepted and that is where I met my love of my life. I worked for Bill a year then proposed to his service secretary and we were married shortly after. For our wedding he offered me a nice new Audi 5000 to use as our lemo. He was very gracious at that time of my life. After the wedding my new wife and I moved to California to a career job. We lived there for over 30 years before returning to the North Country. For five years now I have wanted to see Bill to recall some of the days past mostly about flying. I had photos to show him he would have loved, but I never made the time thinking some day I'll see him. Well I missed my chance and I am sorry for that. Have a good Flight Bill.

Condolence: I have had the pleasure of knowing this man for 22 years. He was a very giving person when it came to children. He totally believed in Clinton Community College,Behavioral Health North and any other foundation to help and guide children. He was a man who was very into eating healthy and of course a occasional alcoholic beverage!! That's what probably kept him so young in spirit. I had noticed The last 6-9 months him failing in health. He is now doing what he craved everyday, "sleeping." We gained another angel. I could go on and on as I have lots of stories he had told me.

Condolence: In my 26 years at the Chamber, Bill was always a keen supporter of the community and a friend whenever needed. He chaired the Capital Campaign that acquired and developed the Chamber's HQ, and was there in support of airport development again and again. His work at Clinton Community College for so many years is paying great dividends today. His was a life well lived, leaving a great legacy.
